AGSA Minutes - April 26, 2001

In Attendance:
Daniel Mazeau, Maury Hutcheson, Tom Brunton, Jen Muller, William McFarlane, Sue Maguire, Jen Randall

The focus of Thursday's meeting was to allocate the remainder of our budget. It should come as no surprise that we found a way to spend it! First, upcoming events-

Friday 4-27 - allocation of $10 for softdrinks at Sid's Anthro Open House/ Festival of Meats. Bill McFarlane will buy drinks.

Tuesday 5-1 - allocation of $60 for food and drinks at the typing party. Jen Muller will purchase food and beverages. Remember, this is open to everyone. There are very few people who need their exams typed so there is no obligation- just come and enjoy some down time at the end of the semester.

Saturday 1-5 - Spring Picnic! We should be able to reserve the same space as the Fall picnic (by the tennis courts across from Ellicott. Once this is verified (or if it changes) I will send another announcement. We've allocated $100 for food and beverages. Bill McFarlane will buy food ($50) and Tom Brunton will buy beverages ($50)

Now, equipment purchases-

The majority of the remaining budget is designated for the Computer Lab.

$300 will be spent to general upgrades and peripheral equipment (mouse, mouse pad, power strip, keyboards, printer and cartridges). Bill McFarlane will make these purchases.

$100 will be spent on an external zip drive. Jen Muller will make this purchase.

We have some remaining funds that have been tentatively allocated for a photography station (camera stand, color correct bulbs, and clamps). Maury Hutcheson is investigating the cost.

Aside from a few outstanding reimbursements (Jen Randall and Clara Banderelli) we have successfully spent all the money thy gave us. Hurray for us.

I hope to see you all at the typing party and/or the spring picnic. Remember, all work and no play makes for a dull anthropologist.

Repectfully submitted,

"William J. McFarlane, President
