AGSA Minutes - November 29, 1999
In Attendance:
Jen Trunzo, Daniel Harms, Mark Carpenter, Kathleen Heffley,
Bill MacFarlane, Chris Wahlfeld, and Sue Maguire
- Report from the trustees meeting:
There was no public forum for airing grievances. Smaller interest
groups are the best way to be heard. Some committees had student
representatives. Our best bet is to get a representative or two into one
of these groups. Once we find out how to do this, we will provide more
info.
- Co-sponsoring events:
The Sociology Department is organizing a one day conference to be held
March 24, 1999. It will be called "NAVIGATING SOCIAL SPACES." AGSA
unanimously approved a $30 co-sponsorship. If anybody is interested in
giving some of their time to the sociology department's cause, contact
Bill MacFarlane for more info.
- Colloquia and Symposia
- A Brown Bag Colloquia has been set up. If you have questions about the
topic and time, contact Bill Macfarlane for more info.
- If anybody is interested in giving a presentation, please contact Dan
Mazeau.
- Capital Expenditures
AGSA will attempt to get funding to purchase a new computer for the grad
lounge. It will be more economical to get a new system to
replace/supplement the current Pentium. The current Pentium cannot be
upgraded in terms of hardware or software. There is not enough memory
to upgrade the software and Packard-Bell products are notoriously
difficult and expensive to upgrade in terms of hardware. Therefore. it was
decided that AGSA will pursue funding for a new machine.
- Printer and Copier Issues
$180 has been allocated to purchase 2 toner cartridges for the copier.
$ 70 has been allocated to purchase two ink cartridges for the printer.
Sue Maguire has volunteered to make the purchases. Motion received
unanimous approval.
Meeting adjourned at 3:35 pm
Repectfully submitted,
Jennifer Trunzo,
AGSA Secretary.
