AGSA Minutes - February 12, 1997

In Attendance:
S. Murray (VP), T. Brunton (Pres.), D. Nolin, P. Hoeman, D. Jones, P. Mitchell, M. Hutcheson, E. Kjeldgaard (Sec't'y), J. Floyd.

1. Opened Nominations for Graduate Committee to replace Karen Niemel (now in Nicaragua). Tom Brunton nominated Dan Jones, no other nominations, vote unanimous in favor.
2. Vote not to fund students for conference participation (we must have such a policy in place if dept. students are to be eligible for GSA funding). Tom moved that we vote to enact such a policy, Seth Murray seconded, vote unanimous in favor.
3. Vote to contribute to this year's Plesur conference. Tom moved that we contribute $25, Phil Mitchell seconded. Vote unanimous in favor.
4. Vote to contribute to bringing a Cambodian dance troop to UB (An ISA representative has contacted us for support). Tom moved that we contribute $25, Maury Hutcheson seconded, vote unanimous in favor.
5. John Floyd reminded members to vote on the forthcoming GSEU contract.
6. Tom proposed that we resurrect grad student colloquia, Seth volunteered to take charge.
