Application for CISP Grants

COUNCIL ON INTERNATIONAL STUDIES AND PROGRAMS ANNOUNCES GRANTS PROGRAM FOR 2005 - 2006

The Council on International Studies and Programs (CISP), a university-wide committee of faculty that advises the provost on international activities and programs at the university, announces a competitive grants program for spring 2005-2006.

The Council invites the submission of applications for small grants (up to $500) to help support international events and activities held on campus this academic year. Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis; however, grant funds must be disbursed by the end of the spring semester 2006 for activities occurring during the current academic year. CISP grants may not be used the current retroactively.

The purpose of the CISP grants is to supplement funding received from the primary sponsor of an event or activity. Eligible events and activities include international cultural events on campus; visiting speakers who will be presenting in a public forum on an international topic of broad interest; international conferences, seminars or colloquia; and research projects with a significant international dimension.

In order to be considered for an award, applications must be complete, meet the stated criteria, include a line-item budget, and be received by the stipulated deadline. Eligible applications will be reviewed by the CISP subcommittee on grants, which makes award recommendations to the full Council.

As a condition for receiving a grant, applicants agree to mention CISP co-sponsorship in any publicity of their event, activity or project, and, once the event or project is complete, to submit to the Council a final report indicating specifically how CISP funds were used.

To apply for a CISP grant, please do the following:

  1. 1. Complete and sign the application form, with line-item budget, which are available at: http://wings.buffalo.edu/intled/cispapplication.pdf or at the Office of International Education, 411 Capen Hall; and
