Funding from the EPA through NIEHS to conduct worker safety and health training for workers who deal with hazardous materials. The program has continued for the past 8 years. We provide training for workers in: private industry (DuPont, OxyChem and FMC in NY and Ohio); local and state government employees (Town of Amherst, NY; East Aurora, NY; Erie County Emergency Preparedness; and the State of NY DEC and Thruway Authority and Canal Corporation); emergency response personnel (Erie and Niagara Counties); hospital and university environmental safety and health personnel; and employees of private consulting firms working at hazardous waste sites. The courses include all levels of HAZWOPER (29CFR1910.120, except specialist) training, confined space and confined space rescue, and DOT hazardous materials training, Radiation Safety, and specialized courses developed on demand. All courses are developed by our group and include 30 to 40 % hands on and practical exercises. |
