Mr. Jerge has over twenty-five (25) years' experience as an industrial
hygienist, occupational safety & health and loss control safety consulting. Currently, he is the Executive Director of Industrial Hygiene & Occupational Health, Inc. He has worked with
manufacturing, municipalities, health care, colleges, high schools and the insurance industryHis technical experience includes comprehensive industrial hygiene
surveys, OSHA mock surveys, audits of asbestos, hazardous and lead abatement contractors, noise, welding fumes, organics, indoor air quality surveys, in addition to other types of industrial hygiene
surveys and audits. He also monitored asbestos abatement projects for several Fortune 500 customers in Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois..

He has provided loss control programs to assist clients with lowering workmen's compensation costs, reduce claim
activity as well as compliance with safety & health requirements. He has provided services to several insurance companies and consulting firms. He has also provided numerous types of training for organizations like
West Point and the United Nations.Mr. Jerge has been an adjunct professor at several colleges for over 13 years. In that capacity, he has provided training in environmental health and safety. He also provides
training for NY State and EPA approved Asbestos, Hazardous Waste and Lead Courses. He also instructs at an OSHA Training Institute Education Center and is the chairperson for courses in industrial hygiene, respiratory
protection, ergonomics, confined space and hazardous materials. He also has and teaches as a Train the Trainer for general industry & construction. He also teaches the 40-hour & 24 hour Emergency Hazardous Waste
Response Programs. As chairperson he develops course content, budgets, planning and course presentation. For 15 years, he was responsible for acting as the Asbestos Coordinator for in-house asbestos related
activities for Continental Insurance Company with locations throughout the United States and Canada. He qualified abatement contractors, designed abatement projects, monitored the projects and worked with various
Federal and State Agencies involving asbestos related projects to ensure compliance. Mr. Jerge has made numerous safety & health presentations to various chapters of the American Society of Safety Engineers,
American Industrial Hygiene Association and State University of New York at Buffalo-School of Medicine. He has also made a presentations on "Building Owners Responsibilities and Asbestos" and 'Hazard Communication" at
several conferences sponsored by The Western New York Safety Society. The Buffalo-Niagara Chapter of the ASSE named Mr. Jerge "Safety Professional of The Year 2002" He has been published in the Occupational Health and
Safety Journal, January 1997, regarding an article that a glove bag manufacturer made regarding the use of glovebags in abatement activities. Mr. Jerge is currently completing dissertation requirements for a Ph.D. in
Environmental Health and Safety. Mr. Jerge is currently an active member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, American Society of Safety Engineers, American Public Health Association, World Safety
Organization, and the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation. |
