Due to the clubs student status, UB SAE receives inadequate financial support from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Suny system or the State of New York. The student association provides an annual budget of $3800 to support the three project vehicles and all other student and community activities. Therefore, it is necessary to obtain the rest of our budget from sponsors.

There are many benefits bestowed upon the sponsors of UB SAE:

  1. Sponser's name is displayed on all three project vehicles
  2. The competitions that the vehicles participate in are organized, sponsored and attended by engineering and technology based companies. This proves to be great advertising for sponsors looking to become more involved in industry.
  3. Our vehicles are shown at many community and campus events, such as The Erie County Fair, the Eastern Street Machines Nationals and NCAA athletic events. This is a fantastic way for a sponsor to get their name out in the public.
  4. Our cars get media coverage from the newspapers and the local television stations. Therefor our sponsors also receive media coverage.
  5. All financial, material and service contributions are tax deductible
  6. Sponsors receive the bi-annual UB SAE newsletter HOLESHOT
  7. Special arrangements can be made to display the vehicle at a sponsor's place of business
