Based on the full sized Formula-one race car, the object of the Formula S.A.E. Competition is to challenge students to engineer and produce the fastest, lightest, least expensive and best handling car that is possible. The formula teams must follow strict safety regulations and design criteria, as well as, cost consideration of the vehicle.

Some of the competitions of the competition include noise and braking, skidpad, acceleration, autocross, 30 mile endurance race, fuel economy, design, cost report and presentation. The competition is sponsored by General Motors, Ford, Chrysler and many several other big name companies. In 1994, we placed 11th out of 74 cars. In 1995, we won the overall best exhaust system and placed 9th place out of 84 cars. We plan on improving our performance by adding active suspension, on-off anti-lock braking and possible a turbocharger.
