Topics: Simple stree-strain tests results.
            Material models.
            Plastic behavior of beams.
            Simple frames
            Upper and lower bounds.

            Stress and strain.
            General principles.
            Yield criteria and flow laws.
            Plasticity theory.
            Upper and Lower bound theorems.
            Application to structures.
            Limit analysis.

Midterm exam: One class period, 4th or 5th week, approximately.

Final exam: Three hours, non-cumulative.

Grading:         Homework    20%
                 Midterm         25%
                 Final              55%
