Dr. Deborah D.L. Chung
Deborah Chung, Ph.D., opens her heart in an inspirational concert-lecture offered during the special "Day of Learning" at the State University of New York at Buffalo. This wide-ranging concert-lecture, accompanied by a colorful slide show, brings together experiences from her childhood in Hong Kong where her father fought during the Japanese invasion in the second World War, through recent trips exposing engineering students abroad to her western values. Wherever Dr. Chung goes, she teaches and inspires. Her credentials include first female graduate from California Institute of Technology (Caltech), a Ph.D. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a diploma in piano performance. She is a professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UB, the author of over 450 research journal papers, active referee for peer-reviewed scientific journals, and inventor of a significant body of patents in the field of carbon and composite materials. In a profoundly moving statement, Dr. Chung concludes that we are all "God's intellectual property", and she shares her view of the relationship between God and mankind as being like the loving relationship between parent and child. Whether you agree or not, this DVD will leave you reflecting on the meaning of life.
