Welcome to the Wings Information Providers Guide.
The purpose of this document is to gather resources for the University's Information Providers in one location.
Below are a host of resources at your disposal including; online forms to request service, policy information, and
guides to assist in the creation and maintanence of web sites on the Wings Central Web Server.
Service Request Forms
The forms below allow Information Providers to request services for their web sites.
A valid UBIT name and password is required to access these pages.
- General Requests - Use this form to contact CIT for a non administrative question or comment. No username/password needed.
Policies
All Information Providers should review and comply with the following policies before placing information on the Wings server.
The Basics
Getting started with Wings. These pages guide new users through the basics of working with Unix,
registering as an Information Provider, web site creation and working with groups.
Advanced Web Tools
For more advanced Information Providers who need additional functionality for their web site.
This section provides information on the use of search tools, the creation of mail forms,
web applications, access restriction and other advanced functionality.
Other Sources for Help
If you have never used Unix or the CIT UBUnix timesharing systems, you should first familiarize yourself with the system.
