We will read selections from the mature comedies and tragedies, and the late romances from Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet to The Tempest.  There will be two essays due during the semester, a final exam, and some in-class writing.  Grades will be based on the quality of the written work and on class participation.  Students should be prepared to do close reading of Renaissance prose and poetry.
